I like the soft, warm, "DryKnit" wool material and comfortable fit. I have a relatively small head for a guy, and the size medium-large fits me perfect (see photo). I recommend buying this hat for its quality construction, soft merino wool material, and excellent value at under $100.
Looks like this beanie will be super warm. It’s supposed to be wool and also has a fleece lining. My guy friend has a large head and while not roomy, he felt it was pretty adequate.
I was looking for a new hat for winter when I found this on TOP-EX. I was intrigued for a couple of reasons. One, It was available in more than one size. Two, it has two layers of fabric for additional warmth and protection from rain and snow. The larger size was important to me because other one size fits all hats would either slip up and off of my ears or were simply too tight. The size of my noggin was on the low end of the XL/XXL size, 23.5", but that's the one I ordered. After receiving it I tried it on and it fits just the way I wanted it to. It's not winter yet so haven't been able to test it in cold weather. However, my head warmed up quickly in the comfort of my house. I'll report back once the weather here in Michigan gets cold.
I have been on the hunt for a husband approved warm beanie for a trip to a cold climate area. I have ordered several I thought would work but it is always the same problem. "This hat squeezes my head." So when I saw that this TOP-EX Waterproof Merino Wool beanie was available in a XL/XXL size I hoped it might be the Goldilocks hat and fit just right. I was super impressed when I opened the package. This hat is so soft! I could barely believe it was wool because I athought wool might be scratchy. Apparently merino wool is different. It is actually a wool blend: 50% Merino Wool, 20% Acrylic, 30% Nylon. Not only is it soft but also waterproof, perfect for our trip. The inside is also lined with fleece for extra comfort and warmth. I hoped my husband's bald head would approve. When he tried it on he was just as impressed as I was. The first thing he said was, "Now this fits right! " I think my hunt is over! I know it seems a little pricey, but I think it is of such a good quality that it is worth the price. It's so nice I may order a M/L for me.
I've been wearing this wool beanie on chilly mornings, and its been wonderfully warm and cozy. The material feels soft against the skin without being itchy, and it stretches comfortably to fit. It stays in place even when Im moving around outside. Its a simple accessory, but it really keeps me warm and comfortable.

I spend a good amount of time in winter driving a semi truck over snowy mountain passes. Unfortunately this means I spend a good amount of time in the rain, snow, and slush throwing chains on my tires and boy is it miserable without appropriate clothing. This hat is extremely warm with a few layers of wool to keep the heat in my head. The plastic layer that keeps water out is a little crinkly but a wet head in winter is a quick ticket to being out of commission. This is a quality hat and it looks nice too. Im very happy with it.
Confirmed waterproof. Just tried in out in the rain and it bounces off. You will sweat a little in the higher temps since it does block out the wind and such. I think this is goof for any weather below 50 but any higher depends on your body heat. In the end, it is comfortable and stylish.
This wool blend hat is well made and attractive, and Im sure it will be warm, but the plastic layer can definitely be heard when moving it around. Its quiet, so I dont think someone else could hear it from a few feet away, but I can hear it crinkling as I put it on.
This hat seems like it will be great for winter. I actually have a relatively smaller head, and the Large size is a pretty reasonable fit on me.
It feels like it will be warm and weatherproof, and I like the clean, high quality design.
The waterproof lining between the inner and outer lining does make a weird crinkly sound, so if you're sensitive to sounds, I feel like that could be an issue for some people. I don't mind it, and I think at the price, this is a pretty high quality hat.
This merino wool beanie provides excellent warmth and comfort for cold weather. The fleece lining adds a soft, cozy layer while the waterproof outer material helps keep out rain and snow. I value how well it covers the head and fits snugly without feeling tight. The beanie feels durable and maintains its shape even after repeated use. It is easy to wear for extended periods and stays securely in place during movement.
Very well designed hat. Start at the very top and notice there are 6 seams which I believe helps the hat conform better to the top of your head while allowing the middle and bottom to comfortably stretch and fit larger heads. Also the stitching is attached to the interior fleece so they don't become separated. The fleece lining adds to the warmth, helps the wool hold its shape better and shields the skin from the wool. The texture of the Merino wool is very refined and soft. Merino wool is a soft, temperature-regulating, moisture-wicking, and odor-resistant natural fiber. Its ultra-fine fibers are breathable and less itchy than regular wool. I do not notice the crinkling sound as mentioned in other reviews. Definitely larger and more comfortable than normal knit caps.
This hat is outstanding in every categoryquality, warmth, comfort, and durability. The triple-layer DryKnit construction really delivers: it blocks out wind, rain, and snow without feeling stiff or plasticky, and it still breathes so I dont overheat when Im active. The fleece lining is incredibly soft and keeps my head warm all day.
The sizing is also a huge plus. Unlike the usual one-size-fits-all beanies, this one actually comes in true sizes, and the deeper crown means it covers my ears fully. I can wear it cuffed for a snug fit or slouchy for a more relaxed look, and both styles work great.
The merino wool outer is soft, not itchy, and has a timeless look that works equally well for hiking in the cold, commuting to work, or just casual winter wear. It feels premium, and I have no doubt it will hold up for many seasons.
Overall, this is the most complete winter beanie Ive owned. Its functional, stylish, and worth every penny. Highly recommended for anyone who needs real cold-weather protection, not just a fashion accessory.
I got this beanie because it comes in an xl size, and it fits perfectly. The hat is warm, stylish, and fits my head like a beanie should.
The fleece lining on the inside gives an additional layer of warmth that I really appreciate. I consider this to be a good value for anyone whose head is on the larger size.
I have a 23 7/8" head and most hats just don't fit well, especially when my hair gets a bit overgrown. The size XL-XXL is definitely large enough with an extra inch or more of extra width and depth. The external fabric feels properly wooly but not overly scratchy while the interior is fleecy soft. This will provide plenty of warmth for extra cold and windy days; haven't tested that yet since it's still only September.
The only negative I can identify is that there seems to be some liner or interface fabric between the fleece and wool sides and it makes a crinkly noise. It's especially noisy when putting on and adjusting the hat. As there aren't many moving parts on my head, the hat isn't disturbed and cause more crinkling sounds. But anything brushing up against it, say a coat hood or car ceiling, can cause it to crinkle. I'm hoping that this liner will break in and not be so noisy after a few uses.
