PolarWool™ Double-Layer 100% Merino Wool Beanie

I really love merino wool in all kinds of clothing. It's so comfortable, it breathes well, and it keeps you cozy when you really need it. I recently got this 100% Merino wool hat from Top-EX, and it has definitely lived up to my expectations. The wool is super soft and doesn’t have any odor, which is one of the things I adore about merino, it stays fresh. It fits nicely, too. My only little note is that I'm not a big fan of product logos right on the front of my hat. Since Top-EX isn't exactly a trendy brand right now, it feels a bit distracting and garish. To make it work for me, I decided to roll the cuff down and wear it more as a slouchy hat. I’m even thinking about using my seam ripper to take off the logo, but honestly, I really like it as a slouchy style.

For decades my favorite, warmest, most comfortable winter hat has been a 100% wool Navy watch cap. Wet or dry, heavy weather, the watch cap is the go to. Now I have one in fine Merino wool All the benefits of wool, with the soft, smooth, even more comfortable Merino wool, even more comfortable. What could be better?

It's a bit tight on a head that usually wears a medium. Pretty color. Haven't worn outside yet.

Finally, a winter hat that doesn't give me a headache. I usually wear a 7 and 5/8 hat. Not huge but enough to make beanies too tight and funny looking.

What I like best about it is the wide brim. It completely covers my ears and I can pull it almost to my high coat collar, so no chilly draft on my neck, and no need to wrap up in a wool scarf. I've washed this hat a few times and it still looks new, no fading in color. I'd recommend this attractive beanie to anyone who needs their head, ears and neck to stay warm in cold weather.

I love this hat. I work outside in below-freezing temperatures. This is a must-have, plus, natural fibers like wool and cotton emit a much higher vibrational frequency than synthetic fabrics.

My old North Face wool hat was getting worn, so I tried a few new ones this winter. This one (double layer merino) is by far the warmest and most comfortable. Importantly, it is actually large enough that I don't have to pull down the brim to fully cover my ears (like some others). It is probably too warm for weather above the mid-30s, but very comfortable in the single digits or in an arctic breeze.

My 21 year old son said it feels thick and feels good, comparable to a Carhartt winter hat - which is a high complement from him.

I cannot get enough of merino wool beanies. But, generally speaking, I usually wear a ball cap outdoors. But I recently ��invented�� a way to combine the two: a ball cap with a beanie on top of it. And, oh, my, gosh, is it ever warm and comfortable!

Now, I know what you��re saying or thinking; no way did this guy invite this because plenty of people do that beanie-on-top-of- ball cap thing. But I never saw anyone do it until later, so, if this is a new idea for you, then this beanie will come in very handy if you regularly wear ball caps.

This Top-Ex beanie is big enough to stretch while not getting stretched out of shape if you wear it while pulling it over another hat (well, maybe not a fedora; that would not be a good look). And, of course, it will work well on its own. It��s pretty big. I got a Large because half the time a Medium, which is what I would usually wear, is too small, and it can��t hurt if a Large is actually large although, mostly, they��re not. I got a Large, it is large, and so I would say that it fits as expected.

By itself, this Top-Ex beanie is nice and warm. There��s that merino for you. You can��t beat it. And this isn��t the only Top-Ex beanie I have and they are all very nice. It makes me very confident and comfortable with Top-Ex products.

So, if you need a beanie I would recommend pretty much any of the ones from Top-Ex and the more merino, the better.

I cannot stand static from wearing a synthetic material hat. These are lighter weight beanies made with real merino wool. They do not get cold when wet, do not make you super sweaty, and keep your head comfortable warm. This was the best had I've worn for sleeping in a tent that I've owned in a long time!

This is a nice cold-weather beanie. The black wool and the mountain logo are nice and simple. I will say that the beanie seems a little longer than I thought it was from the pictures, but not too much so. It just needs a very thick cuff to be worn snug to the head.

My kids love to tell me my head is so big it could be a planet. You have to love teenage boys and their jokes.
Needless to say, my head is larger than most, and a large-sized hat is needed. This hat fits very well. It didn't feel stretched around my head, straining to fit. No, it was comfortable, like it was made to fit since it was.

This hat is nice and warm. Black was the only color it came in, but that��s okay with me. I probably would have ordered it in black anyway. The knit in the hat is tight. It feels expensive. I would recommend the hat. I would get it again if needed.

I have several watch caps. They are my preferred headgear for cold days. My ears get painfully cold any time the temperature goes below about 45��F and a cuffed watch cap does a good job of keeping them warm.

I have a pretty big head. I measured it at the hat line with a piece of cord at 23.5 inches. This cap worked fine for me with room to spare. With a 3 1/2-inch cuff it covers my ears, my forehead down to my eyebrows and well below the collar line of a jacket at the back of my neck. I wear my watch caps pulled down tight with no "bubble" at the top.

I don't like to wear clothing manufacturers' advertising and this cap does have a small logo attached to the front. However, it's small and fairly inconspicuous.

It's still summer so I can't test the cap on a cold day. However, it is very soft and feels like Merino wool. I'm pretty certain it will do the job. You can just barely see a bright light up close through one layer of the cap's soft, non-itchy material and nothing at all through two.

It is made in China. There are laundering instructions but unfortunately, they're just the pictorial symbols. It looks like it's hand wash only.

This seems too scratchy to be 100% merino wool. And it doesn't seem especially big. That said, it's a decent hat.

Warm and comfortable, machine washes well

This is one of the nicest, if not *the* nicest, watch caps I've ever owned! Smooth, comfy merino wool keeps you warm, even when it gets wet (one of the great insulation properties of wool.) It looks good, it's plenty big, which is nice for my big head, and it's nice and warm. I'll be keeping it in my EDC backpack through the coming winter months.

This is a wonderful beanie. Love it. It is nice and warm. Thicker than I was thinking but not a negative. It is soft and not itchy and is keeping my bald head warm this fall.
