DryKnit™ Waterproof Merino Wool Beanie with Brim – Fleece Lined Winter Hat

I have a big head I figured I'll give this a try in winter. The hat fits snug but definitely not tight. It's a different style of winter hat than I'm used to but it can be pulled rown over the ears for warmth. I like that it is lined with cotton so the wool does not feel itchy. They also claim that the hat is 100% waterproof which means it will be good in the snow with a shorter down jacket or as a layer for heavy coat to go under a hood. The branding is very discrete. The price is reasonable for a quality made hat.

I think it looks nice though. This is a great winter hat. 1. Good material and well made 2. Fits over the ears and has a bill on front for sun protection. 3. The interior lining is soooooo warm 4. It has real wind protection. Warmest most comfy hat I have ever owned!

I’m not usually a beanie guy, but this hat is the perfect hybrid — kind of a beanie, but with a bill. It’s soft, warm, and fits my head exactly as the sizing chart described. I’m a little skeptical about the “guaranteed waterproof” claim — I suspect a dunk in water might prove otherwise — but maybe I’ll test that someday. The MSRP on the tag is $40, which feels a bit steep, but in the $20–30 range it’s right on the money for what you get. Overall, it’s a solid, well-made hat that keeps a balding head like mine nice and warm through the winter.

Got this hat for my son. He loves the style hat! He said it is very soft inside and not itchy at all. Additionally he says it keeps his head very warm. He is wearing the xl size because he has a pretty big head and will be growing more. We would highly recommend this hat.

Lots of room for hair! Perfect for longer hair and dreads. Warm, adjustable. You can lower the bottom half to cover your neck in cold weather, or wear it up for a casual look.

Purchased for my husband. He said it is warm, covers his ears well and he likes that it has a brim.

Very warm and comfortable. The visor keeps sun and precipitation out of your eyes. Very durable stitching and thick soft fabric.

This is very nice, and I have to admit I tried everything I could to make it look right on my head, but it turns out to be a little too bulky for me. I do have a little below-average-sized head, so the one-size-fits-all works sometimes, especially if the size is adjustable like a cap. This fit well; it wasn't too tight around my head, even for the first fitting. I also like that you can adjust the beanie part up and down, to cover part of the visor or not, whatever you want to fit your style. I tried playing around with it, fitting it lower and higher, and moving the beanie edges up and down, but for some reason it just looks really bulky. It kind of makes my head look large, and I couldn't get it to look like the female model. I think the edges add too much of a thick layer, something I don't notice on the model.
I do like everything else about it; the color is nice and elegant, although a little brighter than I thought it would be. It's still a nice burgundy color.
I also love that it's lined well because I'm sure this would keep me warm! I also love the visor part; it's not too long. I haven't tested the waterproof part but I'm with this quality, it lives up to it.
I just think that it's more for practicality than perhaps fashion. Also, if you happen to have beanies that have pretty thick rims and that is your style, I think this might work really well for you.

This hat balances quality and functionality perfectly. The fit is snug yet breathable, the material feels premium, and the waterproofing truly holds up in rain or snow. The brim adds both style and utility for winter runs or hikes. Excellent value for money for all-weather wear.

Warm, comfy, fits right! The inner waterproof layer is evident but until I��m out there and relying on the hat I won��t know how effective it is. I��ll have to add an update. One of my problems is that, even if there��s a tiny bit of wool in the mix of a glove, hat, or shirt, I break out in a rash. I was excited to find this design which offers the warmth and protection of wool but with a fleece liner that feels great on my forehead. The double fold over the ears will protect from the icy wind. Ready for winter!!

Functionally, this winter hat is good all around:
- Both the Merino wool shell and the fleece lining are really soft to the touch.
- The material is stretchy enough and the size large (deep) enough to easily keep the entire head warm and protected.
- Even with my big melon head, the hat does not feel too tight.
- It could be pulled down low enough, or the backside could be flipped down, to keep the ears covered.
- The visor is a nice feature to have especially in wet or windy weather for someone wearing glasses.

Aesthetically, it does not make me look as good as when I wear an ordinary fleece beanie hat. Perhaps it's because it's a bit bulky especially when at an extra large size - it's practically a fleece beanie sewed inside a wool hat with visor. A tag on the hat says "100% Waterproof" which claim I have not tested but am not sure it's accurate given that the hat feels very breathable after extended wearing. I don't feel any steam starting to collect inside the lining at all.

In any case, this is a very functional warm hat to have in cold weather. It's very well made, of good quality, and will likely last a long time. I plan to keep it in my car through the winter months and recommend that you consider doing the same!

UPDATED 10/8/2025: My wife actually finds the hat look good on me, and her opinion trumps mine here. So, back to 5 stars!

I wear a men's size 7.5 hat and ordered this hat in the M/L size, as recommended by the size chart. The hat fits great. The sides are stretchy and tight enough to hold the cap securely, but not uncomfortably tight. There is enough height for the hat to (barely) cover my ears. The hat has a thick warm wool top. I like that the brim is big enough to keep the sun out of my eyes. Price is a little high, but good fitting larger-sized winter hats are not easy to come by.

This is a comfortable cap. It has a soft lining on the inside in addition to the super thick woven exterior. The bill of the hat is pretty sturdy and sticks out plenty far enough to protect from sun or precipitation. Overall, the material is nice and the construction is solid. I don't see any messed up stitching or anything. I'd highly recommend this if you like this style of hat.

Real merino wool is soft, warm and doesn't itch, and so this DryKnit? Waterproof Merino Wool L/XL/XXL Beanie Hat with Brim Visor Cap Warm Winter Knit Hat for Men Women (X-Large-XX-Large, Black(sentinel)) can be a good choice!

The hat is warm, soft, and stylish. The interior is very soft. It's wonderful that it comes in larger sizes too.
