I’ve been looking for a hat like this for years: a winter hat I can wear while walking that has a bill to keep the sun out of my eyes. I have photosensitivity, and, yes, I wear sunglasses, too, but having shade over my eyes helps ease eye strain even more. Aside from a bill, I’ve been looking for a fleece lining to keep my head warm, and the ability to cover my ears. In the past I’ve ordered men’s hats with ear flaps but none of them have worked out very well or they look goofy on me. What I like about this one is that it has a bill, a fleece lining, and pulls down enough to cover my ears. It fits well, is comfortable, and I think it looks pretty good on me, too. It’s made of a knitted blend of 50% merino wool which makes it warmer than a completely synthetic yarn. And merino wool is soft and not likely to cause itching compared to other wools.I’ll have the perfect hat to cover my eyes, and keep my head and ears warm.
This is a very warm and roomy hat for the cold months ahead. First, the pros: - The hat looks big at first glance, but it fits well, with just the right amount of snugness; - The hat stretches like crazy, so I could see this fitting a larger head with no issue; - It covers my ears without having to pull it down or adjust the folded brim; - The construction is good, with a basketweave knit for the crown, 1x1 ribbing for the folded brim, as well as a ribbed knit over the protruding brim, and all stitching is secure with no loose or hanging threads; - The inside is lined with a black fleece material which adds a great amount of warmth, but it's not overly hot; - The materials that make up the hat are thick, and the brim is stiff but curves easily. This may end up being my cold weather hat this year, as it's easily the warmest, heaviest hat I own now. I could see myself adding patches or pins to this hat for personalization. Considering the price of this hat, it's easily the best value for a winter hat I've found yet and I will gladly recommend it.
This is a thick, warm and well made hat with plenty of material to pull down over your ears. If anything, it might be a bit too long on my head, there seems to be a little extra space at the crown, even with it pulled down quite far. That being said, it is very comfortable and the style will be great for those blindingly sunny winter days here in the mountains.
I love this hat. Those words have never come out of my brain. Until now. I have a big head, with big curly hair on top of it. Our winters get cold, so I need a hat. Winter hats have always been tight, or itchy. Or both. I ordered the XL/xxl size. It's comfortable. It's soft. It's warm, and it's bigger than I need. That's a near miracle. I could have picked the M/L and been fine. The fleece lining is soft. Not at all itchy. The brim is surprisingly useful. I'll be ordering a couple of these as gifts. This is an incredible value too.
I'm impressed with the TOP-EX PolarWool? Beanie Hat with Brim! This hat checks all the boxes for cold weather comfort and style. The 50% Merino wool blend is soft, warm, and breathable it keeps me toasty without ever feeling itchy or overheated. The fleece lining adds an extra layer of coziness that makes it perfect for freezing days.
The visor brim is a fantastic detail it shields my eyes from the low winter sun and light snow, while still keeping the overall look casual and versatile. Another huge plus is the sizing: this hat is actually designed with room for bigger heads, so it fits comfortably without squeezing, yet stays secure even on windy days. The quality feels premium, the knit looks great with casual or outdoor gear, and the combination of warmth, fit, and functionality makes this a winter essential.
