Harrison Waterproof Neck Flap Bucket Hat

What a fantastic hat! I have a really big head, consequently the vast majority of hats will not fit my dome. According to the hang tag, this company was founded by someone with a XXXL sized head, so I feel for once this is a hat designed for guys like me with a big melon. I wear a 7 3/4 (63cm) so I followed their sizing advice, ordering a Large/XL and it fits like a dream. This SPF 50 hat is water repellent and incredibly lightweight, on my scale it only weighs 4 ounces (115g.). Tons of features like a mesh vent around the entire hat, a chin strap for windy days, a pocket to hide the neck shade, and an adjustable cinch to tighten up the fit around the crown. One tiny quibble: the Velcro pocket closure only works with the neck shade out, once you tuck it into its pocket, the shade doesn’t allow the Velcro to close. I’ll probably remedy this myself and sew a little piece of Velcro onto the neck shade so the pocket will close while the shade is put away - no big deal. This is going to be a great hat for my outdoor hiking and kayaking adventures. Highly recommended.

Finally a hat that fits larger heads. So many of the hats I have had fit on my head only to have no room to spare at all. This hat definitely has enough room that I may actually have to cinch up the size a little bit using the pull cord. The color goes with anything, although not sure that you buy this hat for a fashion statement. For me it is more about function and it checks all of the boxes. SPF 50+, vents for air flow to keep your head cool, wide brim, even has the drape cloth for extra protection for neck and ears. The drape cloth also folds and hides neatly inside of the back brim. Another bonus I love is the chin cord has snap releases so you can keep it attached or store away for later use. Awesome sun hat.

I was on doxycycline for a week and supposed to stay out of the sun. I got this to keep the sun off me.

It worked ok, but the neck guard needs to be about 2 inches longer. I could just barely shove it into my shirt, but if I bent over or the wind blew it would pull it back out. That was a bit annoying and a tiny bit more fabric would have fixed it.

This is a light duty summer hat. This wont keep you warm in winter, but is light enough to work in summer.

This hat is great if you have a big head. So hard to find hats for my husband, but it fits perfectly and has great coverage if you plan on spending a lot of time in the sun.

As someone who burns easily under the sun, this waterproof sun hat has been effective in keeping the sun out of my face.
