PolarWool™ Double-Layer Merino Waffle Fisherman Beanie

This merino wool beanie offers excellent softness and warmth. The merino wool material feels comfortable against the skin and provides good insulation. The construction appears well-made with solid stitching. The main issue I have with this beanie is that it runs a bit small when you try to fold the brim. If you prefer to wear your beanie with a folded cuff, the sizing doesn't allow much flexibility and feels restrictive in that style. The beanie works well for its intended purpose of keeping your head warm, and the merino wool is a nice upgrade from synthetic materials. 4/5 stars - docked one star for the tight fit when folding the brim.

I’ll admit it, I didn’t need another beanie, but the Merino wool sold me. At 80%, it’s a big upgrade from standard acrylic. Merino is soft, naturally breathable, and regulates temperature better than most fibers, so you stay warm without overheating. It also resists odor and typically comes with a higher price tag. The design gives you two options: doubled up it wears like a snug skull cap, unfolded it’s a more traditional beanie. Doubled, it looks smaller on the head, but that’s intentional and gives it a clean, fitted style. The knit is even, the stitching is clean, and it has the right amount of stretch to stay in place. For reference, I wear a 7 3/8 fitted hat and the M–L fits comfortably. Overall, it performs every bit as good as it looks.

This is a great beanie! Well constructed and made with high-quality materials. The Marino wool is very comfortable. I like that this comes in two sizes. Most of the one size fits most clothing items don’t fit me. I have a 7-/8 hat size, and this size fit me perfectly. It’s big enough, but not overly generous in size, giving a very fitted appearance. Still, not tight feeling. The manufacturer calls this a fisherman beanie. I have often referred to this as a longshoreman style beanie. Either way, it’s designed to have a low profile, smooth, snug fit, which it does. I think it’s really good looking. The dye colors look nice… lending a more expensive, higher end overall appearance to it. The cuff does roll down for extra protection when it’s especially cold. It’s plenty warm, but not overly bulky. If you walked into one of the big national sporting goods stores, this wouldn’t look out of place and would be priced at double what it is here. Definitely a good value.

Soft and stretchy! The waffle weave isn't super dense so this is warm but still breathable. Nice quality. Well made. Very attractive style. Recommend!

Great warm hat! It's fuzzier than I anticipated based off the pictures, but that's okay. The color matches the pictures and fits like in the pictures. I like it folded up, but on colder days it will be nice to pull it down over my ears. It's definitely one of the nicer and warmer winter hats I've ever owned, so I think $20 is perfectly acceptable given the quality. It's soft and has a good weight to it. On top of that it actually feels like it's wind resistant! I definitely recommend!

This is a great beanie cap. It's already cold enough for me to wear it now, but will be even better once Winter comes. It's well-made, comfortable, with thick wool knitting that keeps me warm, seems durable, fits perfectly, and has a nice aesthetic to it. The cuff can also be rolled down, which is unique.

I'm fine to wear this for hours on end comfortably and I get compliments on it. I already had plenty of beanies, but this one has become a regular that I wear most often. I would certainly recommend it.

This hat fits well. The material is so soft and comfortable. It isn't scratchy for me at all. It seems to be quite warm as well. It stays on my head just fine. The gray color is a medium charcoal gray; pretty close to the color in the pictures. It'll be perfect for those cool days, and also for a trip to Alaska in the future. It'll match well with anything and packs down easily. It seems lightweight but is definitely warm. This would make a very thoughtful gift for any gender or age from probably teenage on up to adult. Great quality fabric and sewing quality so far. Very nice!

Nice, except that it is small around and short in length. I don't believe a XXL size man's head is going to get the cap on their head with the brim folded like the picture. Unfolded, it will fit, but likely be stretched quite a bit. I expected it to be too large, so I was actually pleased that it fits me. However, I also have children's hats that fit me, and I am only able to fold 1 inch or less of the brim up.

That said, the waffle knit is truly soft and comfortable enough for all-day wearing. I love the colors, and it's just my style. It's an affordable merino wool hat that breathes well while still retaining heat when wet.

A soft, thick, stretchy beanie with real wool. Excellent head wear. The hat clings comfortably to your head, but does not crush you.

The only drawback is it's a bit too small to wear with a double-fold over the ears in very cold weather. (Single layer, yes.) The fit is just as it's shown in the pictures, so that's fair. But if you expect just a little more fabric, you might be let down. The description of origin says "Made in USA or imported." Well, that describes every item on planet earth, so I cannot tell if the vendor is hiding the truth. In fact, according to the sewn label, it is made in China.

This is a nice beanie and seems very well made. I got the navy blue color and it a beautiful deep blue and i would say true navy. The only thing I don't love is that it does seem quite small. It just barely covers my ears and I have a small head. I think this would be suited to those who like to wear a hat but don't want their ears covered.

I am very funny when it comes to the hat or beanies that I wear. Fit is very important to me. This beanie is very nice quality. It is absolutely flawless. It's very soft and comfortable. Being able to wear it in two different ways that look very different is a nice touch. This is going to get worn very frequently once the cold weather returns to my neck of the woods. It has a nice snug fit without feeling tight. It looks exactly like the description pictures. If you want a quality winter hat, look no further because this is a nice value for what you get.

We are always on the lookout for natural fibers amd favor wool in our cold climate. This has a high percentage of wool and is surprisingly soft. My son has been wearing it since he got it ??. I like that it's more shallow like a beanie instead of being so deep it stands up off the head (which is cute, and I think in style, but it's definitely not as secure for a rambunctious boy's outdoor shenanigans)

This is a nice, warm cap for fall and winter. We got the medium-large, and it fits nicely on the "average" heads around here (7 - 7 1/2 hat sizes). There's a bit of stretch, so it can accommodate different sizes. The knit is tight and precise, with no issues. We received the burgundy, and the colour is just like the pics - what you see is what you get!

Brand tags are on a string through the inside label, so super-easy to remove, which is nice.
