PolarWool™ 100% Merino Wool Beanie with Brim

This winter wool cap for men is made of super soft 100% Merino Wool material. The stitch pattern of the wool gives it a handmade kind of "look". The inside is lined with fleece which really makes this a super warm choice for winter. But I think the best feature of all, since I like to wear baseball caps, is the fact that it has a brim on it as well. Which I think makes it all that much more functional for all sorts of activities. As far as sizing, I tend to have to buy large hats, so the XL version of this winter cap fits great. Not too tight, simply snug, as it should be. Thumbs up!

I like this combination ballcap stocking cap. I haven't seen one like this in a store before. It fits my large head well and is comfortable! I ordered the Burgundy XL-XXL size and I love how vibrant the color is! I wear a fitted baseball cap that is 7 3/4, so I'd say this is a great size for a large head like mine! It is large enough that I can actually tuck my ears into it. I think this is going to be my default hat when I go to car shows in the winter. It's rather dressy looking, and it does help to have the brim on the front when it is sunny outside. The color looks good to me. I like the shade of burgundy they chose. It reminds me of the color of cranberries. My personal wish would be for it to have a hint of purple in it, but I am satisfied with it, especially since the color is so vibrant and rich.

great winter hat!

The hat is excellent! I've been wearing a (synthetic) similarly fashioned version of this hat for years. So when the Merino Wool Beanie w/ Brim arrived,... yea!, that's the ticket! Great feel, weight, quality, and comfort. I'm now a fan.

This is a thick, lined, heavy wool cap and is very high quality. You won't find anything like this in your local stores. I am very happy with my purchase.

This beanie-cap is amazing. Super thick and warm but also a bit elastic (so it stretches but bounces back to shape easily), fits nicely over the ears and the brim can be pulled down low or set high, either way. Nice maroon color too. I just might buy another for a gift to someone else!

When the weather gets cold, I have frequently wanted a hat brim when wearing my stocking cap. This is a good solution.

The cap is well made. It's warm. It has a nice sweat band. It's comfortable. It's all the things you'd want from a winter cap.

The one thing is that my cap has a brim that is larger than the one represented in the photos. Either that or the models used have very large heads. For reference, I have the Medium-Large size.

Great hat, my husband loves it! He has a hard time finding hats that fit but the larger size of this one is perfect for him. Well made and very warm. He says it's so comfortable.

Really nice soft fabric inside and out. It fit well and kept my head and ears nice and toasty warm.

I. Love. This. Hat. How genius is it to have a warm cap with a brim to keep out the winter sun! The cap is comfortable and stretches enough that it can fit both genders comfortably. It is incredibly well made with no snags or loose pieces of yarn in sight. If you are worried about itchy wool, you can allay your fears. The entire interior of the hat is lined with an incredibly soft fleece! It has a lot of utility because there is an extra band that can be pulled down over the ears on colder days, but can be pushed up so that the hat looks like a baseball cap when not in use.

I absolutely cannot recommend this cap enough and think it is such a great deal for the price. Although it is recommended to be hand washed, I use a baseball cap frame and the delicate cycle in my machine with no problem (and use a special wool detergent).

The only thing I would say is that the navy is more of a deep royal blue than a true navy. I had originally purchased this for my son, but because he felt the blue was a little too "blue" for his tastes, I got it instead and am very happy about that!

WHAT a GREAT HAT!

The burgundy color is really nice. SOMEHOW it looks good with 3 different burgundy things I have - which DO NOT match each other... (THERE'S a trick!) Maybe the beautiful, soft, NO ITCH (even when there isn't a lovely bonus fleece lining TOO) 100% MERINO WOOL yarn has some blended color shading included which makes it be a burgundy Chameleon?! It really DOES look like it was MEANT to be worn with the vest, jacket and pullover fleece which I THOUGHT by looking at the picture it would probably match ONE of them well. (SCORE!)

LOOKS, however, are not everything.

This hat is easy to wear and comfortable. The fit is snug but not small at all - I shall not fear it blowing off of my head in a stiff winter wind! I love how the "double band" is both good for extra warmth - and that it gives you some "wiggle room" about HOW you can wear it too. Want LESS ear and low back of your head coverage? just Make the doubled up part a little wider on the sides and back. Decide you really want MORE ear coverage after all? It's easy to just sneak it back down while you're wearing it. Stop where ever it's most comfy for you in the moment,

There's plenty of flex in the top of the hat to wear it fairly low on your head - as pictured, and that's JUST the fit I was hoping for. OR - you can scooch it up a little higher on your head instead. if you get too much 'puffy look" on top by doing that - you can just pat it down while you're wearing it, and it'll be back to a streamlined look.

The slightly over-sized bill is GREAT as well. SO nice to be able to shield your eyes - both from bright, low in the sky, sunshine of winter AND the icy wind! A slight tilt of your head can be all the extra protection you need on most winter days. So - if it turns out to be a little colder/windier than you were expecting - and you left the scarf or gator at home - the pull your hat DOWN, then tuck your head down too will serve you well in a pinch!

We have 2 hats from this brand now - love them BOTH. I will say if you're on the fence about which size to choose, you're probably safe with ordering down for a more traditional fit. If you like a little extra roomy hat top ... maybe you have BIG FABULOUS HAIR?! - or it's SO cold that you want room for a full head balaclava UNDER this hat - size up instead.

My kids love to lose winter hats, so we're always on the lookout for something new. This hat is very warm; the inside is especially plush and soft. The brim is great for keeping snow out of your eyes in a squall . There is a fold down section that you can use to cover your ears if it's cold enough or you can keep it folded up if you'd rather not have the hassle. It's a very stylish hat as well, and it is well-constructed. I expect to get many years of use out of this. Highly recommended.

This is a high quality visor beanie hat that both looks nice and is comfortable. The vendor pays attention to detail in the construction of this hat: the seams meet at one point at the top of the hat (as they should); the interior lining is secured firmly to the hat with no separation at any point (as it should); and the visor is securely covered by the Merino wool with no separation at any point (as it should). The hat itself is warm and the lining makes it comfortable to wear against the skin. The sizing for this hat is accurate as well (in other words, it does fit comfortably on my big head). I have purchased several hats from this vendor for my wife and myself and they are all top-notch!

I already love this cap and it isn't even cold enough to really wear it yet. The wool is soft and not at all itchy. The fleece lining is warm and cozy. The fit is really great. The visor is just the right length for sun protection but not altering visibility. I like it a lot and would gladly get it again in other colors.

"for Big Head", that would be me. I am always glad when I find a cap for hat that is not advertised as "for women or men" because what that means for me is "you don't have a prayer of that fitting". When I find a cap that fits and is really a great hat from the materials to the design, and well constructed, I am ecstatic. This is that cap. Just in time for winter, this is a 100% Merino wool cap, with a knitted wool top that pulls down over my ears. It does have an inner lining of polyester fleece which makes it less than 100% wool, but because of the thick knitting on top it only keeps your head warmer and wicks away moisture. With the brim I don't have snow hitting my face. The flexible knit makes it a good, firm fit for all big headed men. Perfect

Winter is coming, and I need to be ready. This is the perfect hat to help me battle the cold outside. I like the fact that it has a bill on it, so I can get some more sun shade while wearing it. The fit is nice and firm without being too tight. It is deep enough for me so I can also cover more of my ears up. Yes it is warm, but unlike my other ones, I am not overheating when wearing it for long periods. Things to remember.

make sure to expect some color bleed on your first wash, so be careful.
a little fabric spray will help you from getting static discharge (if you are prone to that).
Other than that, this is my perfect winter hat I have been looking for.

This hat will look flattering on just about everyone. It's stylish and fun. I have a large head so most hats I try on are too tight. This one feels very comfortable while still being snug enough to stay in place. The wool is very soft and warm and not itchy. The fleece lining keeps my hair smooth inside the hat. The brim is a real plus for sunny days because most winter hats don't protect your face at all. I love the burgundy color which looks great with my black, gray and blue coats.

I wear a size 7.5 hat. The size chart for this hat recommends ordering the XL size, but I decided to order the M/L size because in my experience this brand runs a little large in size. I like the fit of the M/L hat. It stretches to cover my ears and top is not too bulky like this brand tends to be. The 2-layer construction is thick and warm so the hat does have some bulk, but there no loose excessive fabric. I like that the brim is large enough to keep the sun out of my eyes, unlike some other beanies that have a mini-brim that is more for show than function.
