UVCoolix™ Cooling Sun Hat with Neck Flap UPF 50+

What a fantastic hat! I have a really big head, consequently the vast majority of hats will not fit my dome. According to the hang tag, this company was founded by someone with a XXXL sized head, so I feel for once this is a hat designed for guys like me with a big melon. I wear a 7 3/4 (63cm) so I followed their sizing advice, ordering a Large/XL and it fits like a dream. This SPF 50 hat is water repellent and incredibly lightweight, on my scale it only weighs 4 ounces (115g.). Tons of features like a mesh vent around the entire hat, a chin strap for windy days, a pocket to hide the neck shade, and an adjustable cinch to tighten up the fit around the crown. One tiny quibble: the Velcro pocket closure only works with the neck shade out, once you tuck it into its pocket, the shade doesn’t allow the Velcro to close. I’ll probably remedy this myself and sew a little piece of Velcro onto the neck shade so the pocket will close while the shade is put away - no big deal. This is going to be a great hat for my outdoor hiking and kayaking adventures. Highly recommended.

Finally a hat that fits larger heads. So many of the hats I have had fit on my head only to have no room to spare at all. This hat definitely has enough room that I may actually have to cinch up the size a little bit using the pull cord. The color goes with anything, although not sure that you buy this hat for a fashion statement. For me it is more about function and it checks all of the boxes. SPF 50+, vents for air flow to keep your head cool, wide brim, even has the drape cloth for extra protection for neck and ears. The drape cloth also folds and hides neatly inside of the back brim. Another bonus I love is the chin cord has snap releases so you can keep it attached or store away for later use. Awesome sun hat.

I liked how the flap covered the back of my neck and both sides of my face. It’s comfortable to wear providing sun protection for my entire head. Great product.

I was on doxycycline for a week and supposed to stay out of the sun. I got this to keep the sun off me.

It worked ok, but the neck guard needs to be about 2 inches longer. I could just barely shove it into my shirt, but if I bent over or the wind blew it would pull it back out. That was a bit annoying and a tiny bit more fabric would have fixed it.

This is a light duty summer hat. This wont keep you warm in winter, but is light enough to work in summer.

This hat is great if you have a big head. So hard to find hats for my husband, but it fits perfectly and has great coverage if you plan on spending a lot of time in the sun.

So this is a really good hat for anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors during the summer. In case you don't know it the UV index has gone up quite a bit over the last few years and sunburns are dangerous. There are a lot of health issues that can come from too much sun on your skin and this is really nice It also helps with heat stroke and keeps the bugs off the back of your neck. It is lightweight, easy to carry and the shape goes right back to where it's supposed to be after you take it out of wherever you've been storing it.

Lightweight hat is comfortable to wear while working out in sunlight, neck flap is a good weight so that it stays in place and covers the back below neckline which helps to remain cool. The hat brim is ventilated and helps somewhat. Even when sweating, it didn't show on the hat. Easy to wash/dry. Large/XLarge size hat fit a 7.5 head. Rolls up small to fit into a backpack and not take up much space. Nice hat to have to protect face and neck from sun.

This is a nice water resistant bucket hat. It folds flat. Mine slid easily into the seat pocket on my truck. I wear 7 3/8 hat and the XL/XXL fit well with extra room. I went a bit larger because the hat as a size adjustment cord built in. The only thing I would change would be to put a Velcro dot on the sunshade to seal the brim pocket when the shade was tucked away.

I spend most of my day outside in the hot Texas sun. After having severely burning my ears and the back of my neck, Mrs. Big-Foot informed me I had to do something other than a typical ball-cap or I was risking melanoma. She's right of course and I had the chance to review this hat. I really like that I have the option of having the flap hang loose or tuck it up inside the hat. It's ventilated and does a great job of wicking away perspiration. With the hot summer coming up in just a couple months, you want to get ahead of the rush and buy this hat while you can!
I keep up with my reviews and will revisit this one should the need arise.

I thought I had a fairly large head (I am 6'4" and 250 lbs.) so I ordered the L/XL size. Maybe I should have checked the head circumference guide more closely. It still works, and actually you can cinch it up a little, but it's slightly larger than expected. In any case, that's more my fault than the hat's so I'm keeping the 5 star rating.

Hat is attractive and lightweight. Has some nice mesh near where the head is, allowing evaporation. The neck cover is kind of long but that's okay. This will work great for my backpacking trips!

I has stoked to try this hat, and made sure I ordered the XL/XXL size due to my large head and past experience with hats. I have 2 other hats, one is a boonie style hat in an XXL size, and another stiffer brimmed sun hat in an XXXL size. My XXXL size hat fits perfect, and the XXL boonie hat fits, but is a little snug. This hat, however, in the XL/XXL size is significantly oversized for me (this thing is HUGE), I really should have ordered the next size down. That being said, there is a bungee cord with an adjuster that goes around the hat to allow you to cinch it down for a tighter fit, but that doesn't work very well. It would probably work well if you just needed a very small adjustment to keep the hat on your head.

Other than the fit, the hat is made of good quality nylon fabric with polyester mesh/lining/band. I'm very happy with how the hat is built, and the little pouch built into the brim for the neck flap is a nice touch. I also really like the fact that the strap is removeable, I have never seen that on a hat before. I also really like that the hat doesn't have any writing on it, just a tasteful embroidered logo on the front.

Even though my large head is swimming in this HUGE hat, I think I'll still wear it on a sunny day. Don't pay attention to the size name, pay attention to the measurements.

My husband loves it! He usually has to settle for smaller hats for his big watermelon head, but this hat is even bigger than him! Luckily, it has a little strap to pull it tight. He got the XL-XXL size.

This is great - actually the largest XXL hat I've ever seen. My circumference is (26.6) bald in and I normally opt for the maximum size but here this would have fit me even if I had big hair to go with my big head.
You can fine tune and tighten making this a comfy and robust option for maximum sun protection. I'm pleased with the quality of the finish and the materials.
