This is a nice cold weather cap! It is well-made with neatly stitched seams. The knit material and lining are soft to the touch and comfortable to wear, not itchy at all. I really like how it comes down over your ears without feeling like it's constantly crawling back up your head like traditional stocking caps. You can fold the band down to cover the back of your neck, as well. The brim is sturdy, not floppy or feeling like it's made out of a cut up file folder. In my opinion, this hat is worth the price.
I bought this DryKnit beanie for a camping trip, and it’s hands-down the best winter hat I’ve owned. The Merino wool keeps me warm without overheating, and the fleece lining is so soft. It stayed dry through morning frost and even a light drizzle. The brim gives it a sleek look, and it’s unisex, so my son loves It.
Have not tried in cold weather yet but fit and construction is good. Only flaw is the leather brand tag pulls the knit cuff a little and makes it uneven on the front. It would be an easy fix for the company I think. I walk to work in winter and am excited to have the brim and the supposed weatherproof finish. The beanie sizing is also generous enough that I tried it on with a hair clip in and it still covered my ears which is rad, but loose enough to layer an ear band or scarf under in super cold conditions. Looking forward to using it!! Would also dig a version with a ponytail hole on top!
I was quite taken aback by this hat! Growing up in the PNW, we experience hot, dry summers followed by cold, wet weather. Usually, I steer clear of hats because my head is quite large, and they often don’t fit well. But this time, I went with the extra-large size, and I’m really enjoying the comfort. When I wear it, it keeps me warm but breathable, so I can wear it indoors on chilly mornings or evenings, even in the early fall. I also appreciate the brim on the beanie, which helps keep rain or snow off my glasses. Plus, it provides good ear coverage, which is one of the first areas to get cold. I also like the style of the beanie; it looks well made and practical. My wife even thought it would be a great choice for people who have lost their hair due to cancer. Needless to say, it sparked conversations about gifting one to a family friend.
I love this hat. Having a brim on a beanie used to be the style in the early 2000's and its been hard to find these for last decade. Glad that someone realized how useful this design is. I work outside in the Reno/Tahoe area and having a visor on my beanie is a must. You can keep the snow and sun out of your eyes at the same time as staying warm. This design is very functional and useful if you are outside in the winter. This is really built well. It's so much thicker than I had hoped and it's actually really amazing. I have no doubt this is going to keep me warm. Being made with Merino Wool it will retain heat even if it gets wet. It's also fleece lined making it have a great feel and weight to it. I am really happy with this hat. Its beyond anything that I had hoped it would be. Easy five star. This is one of the thickest beanies I own and having a brim on it makes it functional and very useful working or enjoying winter weather. One of the better made hats that I have had the pleasure of owning.
