Waterproof Merino Wool LED Beanie – Fleece Lined Warm Winter Hat for Large Heads

You can definitely feel the difference in warmth of this hat! It keeps my head noticeably warmer than basic hats, so the wool content of this hat really makes a difference! The light has high, medium and low modes and also flashing. It's perfect for going out with the dogs at night and just giving myself some extra light to see while walking around with them. Also, the XL size is really helpful for being able to wear with my hair up in messy bun (which lets be honest is most of the time!) Regular size hats don't fit properly unless I wear my hair down, so I love the extra large size of this hat! Really recommend this hat if you need warmth and maybe even a light sometimes!

This hat fits my big head well. It is very nice wool and warm lined. I am very impressed that it is waterproof too, and it passes the rain test.
The light is good and bright but does not seem robust and I doubt it is waterproof. Sadly, when removing it from the charger after first charging, the USB connector came apart from the rest of the light. I��ve managed to push it back together and will superglue it, but I doubt it is waterproof now.
So it��s an excellent hat, let down by a non robust light module.

This navy blue beany hat is also available in grey or black and is either XL or XXL in size for suitable head shapes. The material is described as 50% merino wool/30% nylon/20% acrylic; with an inner 100% polyester fleece, which allows for stretching as needed on the head. It feels nice and warm to use and the extra feature of a LED rechargeable light makes it ideal for night wear. I like it and can recommend it for the colder nights ahead.

It��s well worth the money. I like light on the hat.

Nice idea, works well and very bright. However, I got it more for walking my dog, which didn't work as well since it needed to be pointed downward. This points forward, so it's great for night hiking and letting people know you're there, but less so for looking at where you or your dog are walking immediately in front of you.

I kind of love this hat It fits well it's super warm and comfy and cozy and soft and the light on it well not the brightest light in the world is more than bright enough for a walk or to see what you're working on right in front of you and it holds a charge for longer than you would think for its size really glad I snagged this and might have to pick up a couple more.

This hat fit me fine and I feel like I have a big head. The removable light is very bright. High quality - 50% wool so it keeps your head nice and toasty. I like wearing this hat to do chores at sunset, it's super helpful. Great gift idea as well.

I really wanted to love this hat. It's thick and warm. Being waterproof is a plus. It fits my head just fine. But there's a few issues. First, the LED light points up just enough so it doesn't put the light were I need it. The bulky headlights can be aimed, this one can't be. maybe it's just my head but when I wear it the light lights up the ceilings in rooms. The pattern starts at about eye level and goes up. Not a killer but not idea either. To get it to point lower I have to pull it down onto my head further. At that point it's covering my eyes so useless.

The second issue is it says fleece lined but the lining in the hat I got has a nylon type of material inside it. That's kind of slippery. The hat felt like it would slide off my head, it didn't, but it felt like it wanted to.

Great hat for those that work outside in the dark & cold.

I like a beanie hat, and I also like a torch. Usefull for seeing where you are going in the dark, and the hat bit keeps your head warm.

This one could probably keep 2 heads warm, it is advertised as oversized, but unless you have a very tall head you will end up with a large amount of floppy hat on the top. Maybe it's the style, and I've missed the style boat again, perhaps it's a bit like the knee level crotch tracksuit bottoms that seem so popular at the moment.

Either way, the hat is good at being a hat, the torch is bright and easy to use and is great in the dark!

When it arrived, the light was popped out of the hole, but it was easy enough to pop back in.

The light is bright and easy to turn on. The hat is definitely oversized, as the description states. You might be able to fit 2 heads in it.

If you're looking for a great Christmas gift for your mailman (or other delivery service person) this hat is a fantastic option. People might not realize how dangerous it is out there for delivery people when it gets dark. This hat helps address that. Safety is caring!

This beanie is great for winter. It fits really good on my head and it��s nice and warm. I also love the way the fabric feels. But the winning part is that it has a light on it. This lets me be able to see outside when I��m walking in the morning with my dog and when I��m training in the evening. It��s rechargeable so that��s added plus.

This is a great functional beanie. The fit and material are great and love that it has an LED light incorporated for when I am out and about while it's still dark.

How neat and how practical is this? Perfect for the fall and wintertime especially when it seems like you'll never see the sun again and everything is always in the dark. Especially when you have to check something on your car like the battery or something. Love it. I recommend.

This is a practical idea, you might get laughed at a bit at times, but its a nice beany, warm and soft feeling on the inside, the light has several light intensity settings but on highest produces a good amount of light, enough to walk in the complete dark. very practical, and as a bonus, while the kids will borrow my torches, so I can never find them, this hat they won't take, so bonus !

I hate that it gets dark so early in the afternoon this time of year. It seems you leave the house in the dark and you arrive home in the dark. I ordered this for my son because he likes to walk the dog in the evening and we don't have sidewalks. He needs to see and be seen. With this hat he is easily visible. It also helps him to see the road in front of him. The hat is made well and sized for an adult. It actually fits me (a woman) as well. It would be a bit big I feel for a child. It's also warm without being too hot. Reasonably priced.

Good comfy hat with added LED light.

Despite being oversized, this hat provides a good fit on both myself & my wife, with being too tight or too loose on either of us.

The hat itself is well-made, a wool mix with a fleece lining & stitching looks good. It is a really nice item to ware & is good & warm, even in the bitter cold we've had recently, have got to test it out in -8C in our area.

Now the LED, having multiple brightness settings & an S.O.S strobe mode. USB rechargeable & can be popped out of the hat to be charged, which is a solid feature. The brightness is really impressive, even at the lowest setting is like looking into the heart of the sun, so I do try to keep it pointed down for the sake of my fellow night walkers.

Excellent hat for the winter night dog walks.

This rather nice hat arrives in a easy to recycle plastic bag. Made from a pleasant mixture of wool with a fleece lining, it's warm and comfortable. Something that provides good insulation for your noggin, especially in late November when this review was written.

A hat that's windproof but not totally waterproof, so it can be soaking when you get home. But if you remove the LED light it can be tumbled dried without any problems.

I also like how it's easy to remove the LED light, which means you don't have to have a soggy hat on your desk while recharging it. A light that's a nice practical feature, especially when walking the dog. While the light has four different modes, I found myself mostly using the brightest one.

Which works fine, particularly when having to pick up after the hound. Though, with the light being at head height, it does tend to blind anyone who talks to me! Overall ? Yes it's a little overpriced when compared to similar hats, but it's a nice warm hat with a decent useful light.

Hat fits my head well - very comfortable with the woollen outer and fleecy inner lining. The light has 3 brightness options plus an SOS type flashing option and, on the top option, certainly throws a good light down some dark country streets / lanes.

The light unit easily slips out of the rubber / silicone mount on the hat allowing you to plug it directly in to a standard USB port (protected by a small rubber sleeve when wearing the hat) for a charging cycle - this means easy to charge the light and easy to wash the hat ! It has only been out on a test run so far and is sitting plugged in at the side of my desk so it is fully charged and ready to go when I head out for a couple of days tomorrow !

Lot's of uses and different applications I am sure but on the basis of a warm hat which effortlessly sheds a bit of light where you are looking then I cannot fault at this price.

This blue beanie hat is excellent quality. The knit is soft and on the inside you have a lovely fleece material. The light fits right into the hat itself. It folds over which helps to keep it in. They claim that the hat is 100% waterproof. You can feel/hear a waterproof type of material in the hat.

It is an adult hat, but I would say it��s not an extra large. I was expecting it to be roomier. If you need more room, size up. It does have pretty good stretch, but because of the liner it��s not the same as an all knit hat.

The color is a very pretty navy blue. It��s something that really goes with a lot of of my husband��s shirts and jackets he wears.

In terms of charging, you don��t need any cord or batteries. The USB plug is built right into the light. There��s a small rubber cap to keep it protected until you need to plug it in and charge it. It begins charging as soon as you plug it in.

This is the 2nd hat I��ve got that has a built in torch, I never thought I��d be able to replace my head torches, which are a pain to wear and often a bit uncomfortable or bulky.

These hats with the torch on the front however, made my mornings so much easier. No more messing about with trying to get the head torch strapped on without messing up the hat, or having the had slide about and finding the torch halfway down your face mid walk!

The hat itself is fleece lined, adding a nice layer for extra warmth, and it does keep you warm. The wool mix outer is nice and soft and it��s really comfortable to wear.

The torch sits in the turn-up. You can pop it out of its holder so that you can re-charge the torch (this one has a standard USB connector). There are 4 settings on the Torch - full beam, mid-light, low light and flashing light. And when fully charged, it��s bright. You can��t look at it directly without momentarily causing flashing lights to appear infront of you for the next 5 minutes. Which is good (not the latter part, the brightness part), it means on full beam it clearly lights the way well. You just have to be conscious if you stop and talk to anyone that if it��s pointing directly at them they may be finding it a bit uncomfortable.

It��s ��20 at time of writing, so not the cheapest of beanie hats. My other one was ��11.99 and works just as well. The difference is the material of the hat - this one is 50% Merino Wool, 30% Nylon and 20% Acrylic, the cheaper one was 100% Acrylic. I��ve got be honest, whilst the material is nicer, it��s a hat I have on my head for a small amount of time in the morning and evening, nobody sees it. I��d buy the ��11.99 one again over this. But this is a nice hat that does the job - it��s more about whether you want Merino Wool or Acrylic.

When they say 'oversized', they really mean it!. It seems there's enough material in this hat to make at least 2 'normal' beanies.

Once you've got it something like acceptable appearance-wise on your head, the warmth and comfort really is apparent. Pulled down to cover your ears, and it's very warm and cozy�� to the point that you'll probably ignore the appearance when out and about in freezing weather.

The front light is a real bonus, and isn't so big as to look out of place. Rather that than some logo stitched onto the front.

The size/design may be different to what you're used to, but from a warmth point of view it's a winner.

On a quality/value-for-money basis.... 5-Stars.

I got this hat in a size XL, and it is perfect - there is plenty of room in it, no tightness at all and it feels really thick and very soft and warm.

The light is nice and bright too, easy to control via the panel on the front.

Overall, a great quality hat.

As someone who is bald, although the hat fits me perfectly, there is a massive poof over my head, like its aupposed to be holding something but it isnt there. However it is quite comfortable and keeps me warm and cozy.

Quite impressed with the torch on it. Works well and is bright. Looking forward to next year's Scarefest at Alton Towers where i can maximise the usage of this hat's torch.

This very nicely made hat arrived in a plastic bag. It is well stitched and well lined with a fleece material, all seams are enclosed and there are no loose threads or raw edges. The hat is cosy, as you would expect from merino wool and it fits snugly with a gap at the top due to its shaping. There is a small logo stitched to the brim at the left hand side. I like the hat a lot, my issue is with the torch. Not everyone will have this issue but I walk the dog on unlit roads and need a strong torch with a good beam. This hat-torch is ok for darker areas on street lit roads but not strong enough for me to see my way on the unlit roads. Plus, in order to see where I am walking using this torch, I need to angle my head down whereas when walking in my normal posture, the torch beam is angled upwards. Conversely, whilst I do not rate the torch for me to see by, I do rate it for others to see me and I can see a static or SOS beam would be very useful in the case of ever needing assistance. The torch comes out of it's housing easily for the hat to be washed or for the battery to be charged. So, whilst the hat itself doesn't particularly suit my requirements, there is nothing wrong with it per se and I'm sure others will find it perfect for them.
